My Review:

OK so I totally ruined the ending of this one for myself. I was converting my Ebook file to read on my iPhone because I couldn’t wait until the next day to read the paperback on my shelf (impatient yes, do I care, no) and somehow in the process the chapters got mixed up so I read the epilogue at the start.

Aside from spoiling some of the suspense though, it didn’t do anything to dampen the awesomeness of this book. As I’ve mentioned in previous posts, I read and loved the Riley Jensen series by Keri as well, and this new series has the same great writing style but with new worlds and characters to explore.

The book delves into the world of sea and air dragons. The humans don’t know about those who can change into dragons, except a group of scientists who are capturing and studying them. Destiny escapes the compound where she and other dragons, including her mother, are being held. But now she has to go back and save the others, without getting caught again.

It was so fun and I loved Destiny and Trae. I ate this one up and can’t wait to read Mercy Burns (Book 2) when it comes out!

Riley Jensen Guardian Series

Review: The Riley Jensen Guardian Series
Author: Keri Arthur
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Page Count: 9 books @ aprx. 400 pages each.
Rating: 5/5

Book 1 Description:

Riley Jenson is a dhampire (part vampire, part werewolf), who works for Melbourne's Directorate of Other Races, a government agency that polices the supernatural races. Riley is a “paper pusher” with a desk job and wants to stay that way, but her twin brother Rhoan is a guardian, a glorified assassin. When Rhoan goes missing, Riley must go into the field to find him.

My Review:

That’s just the beginning of course, but I didn’t want to spoil anything! There is plenty of action and romance and great plot twists.

I found that Riley was a great character; strong, independent and believable. She didn’t like killing people or torture and often regretted giving in to her inner animal.

The love rollercoaster was a fun ride for sure, and I was very pleased with the way things turned out in the end.

The supporting cast was awesome and the variety of supernaturals that Keri explored was really captivating.

*sidebar* I’m a fan of the UK covers but they haven’t released 4-6 yet so those are the US ones.

Book 1’s Excerpt / Description:

My Review:

Is she crazy, or can she really see ghosts? A great book that keeps you guessing and wanting more. Very interesting, to start, I had no idea what to expect. It actually took me the first 4 chapters to realize I was reading a different series than I intended, but I'm glad I made the mistake because I really enjoyed it!

I read the whole series, and loved all 3 books. The characters were so well written and Kelley keeps you on your toes to the very end. I love it when a story isn’t predictable and it was certainly the case here!

Chloe was believable and age appropriate. She was totally likable and developed very well over the span of the series. I liked that she second guessed things and didn’t just believe in the supernatural because someone told her it was real. She fought to understand the truth and made her own decisions.

Derik; the tough guy with loads of attitude. I had a soft spot for Derik from the start and was very happy with the way his character grew and came out of his shell.

Simon; cute boy who’s sweet and artistic *swoon* what girl wouldn’t crust on him. I really liked how Kelley handled his relationship with Chloe, I won’t spoil anything but I found her approach very refreshing.

Of course there are so many other great characters in the series too. An awesome read, I wish that there were more than 3 books!

Still not sure? Library people! Read the first one, and you’ll be hooked :)
